Movement & Mindfulness
Anchor 1

“Our feelings, thoughts and memories are all very complicated but behaviors are very concrete. They’re the ‘control panel’ for the rest of it.”

-Andrew Huberman

The movements of our body can unlock the most profound parts or ourselves. Movement helps heal trauma, expose wisdom, and unfold our deepest truths.

Yoga can help us unpack the most difficult and confusing parts of life. Amazing transformation can happen through our practice.

ABOUT

About Alexis Choi

Hi, I'm Alexis.

I'm a yoga teacher offering Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Myofascial Release in Seattle.

I work to create a safe and comfortable space for anyone who wants to practice yoga.

All ability levels and all bodies are welcome in my classes. And I love introducing new students to yoga.

My classes are fun and engaging. I use analogies from modern life. I want yoga to be as accessible as possible.

At the same time, I encourage students to lean into any discomfort. With anything you try for the first time, you’re going to feel a little lost. Embrace that. There’s nothing wrong with that.

I will shift you away from how the pose looks to how it feels in your body.

I began practicing in yoga in 2002 when I first moved to the US from South Korea. Since then, I have trained over 800 hours with some of the greats in the field, including Jason Crandell, Tiffany Cruikshank, and Seane Corn. I moved to Seattle from Las Vegas in 2020 and have been teaching at TruFusion ever since. I know what it feels like to be the new to a community and am happy to help you feel welcome as you start your new yoga practice!

What you can expect in my class

Everyone has a body. It connects every person in this world.

And it’s where I start my teaching.

Some bodies can do fancy yoga poses or lift a ton of weight. Some bodies find it hard to walk to the gym. But we all have a physical experience in our bodies.

I believe this physical experience is my way to connect with every person who walks into my class.

Regardless of practice level, you feel sensations in your body as you practice. And these sensations teach you deeper truths about yourself.

Trauma can disassociate us from our physical experiences. Practicing a physical art like yoga can bring us back in dialogue with the hidden parts of ourselves.

When you come to my class, one of the first things you will notice is that I give detailed cues about position and alignment. I want you to notice how your feel physically. Over time, these physical observations will start to morph into mental and emotional observations.

You will not have revelations about yourself in every class. And you may not have deep epiphanies any time soon. But if you keep coming back, connecting to your body will teach you about yourself.
